Mary Brown 86, of Wurtland KY went to be with the lord on Sunday, May 19,
2013 at her residence.
She was born on May 14, 1927 a daughter of the late Preston & Lillie Pence Eldridge.
She was a member of the South Fork Old Regular Baptist Church in Worthington KY.
She is survived by three
sons, Richard Brown of Wurtland, Michael Brown and his wife Michelle of Wurtland and David Brown and his wife Sheila of Morehead;
a daughter, Patsy Howard and her husband Farrell of Greenup; a brother, Roscoe Eldridge of Morehead; two sisters, Carma Jean
Eldridge of Morehead and Shirley Blevins and her husband Earl of Glasgow KY; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the South Fork Old Regular Baptist Church in Worthington
by Elders Gary Blevins, Ira Adkins and Willis Tolliver. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in the Eldridge Cemetery in Morehead
KY.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY and one
hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
Church services will be held Wednesday at 6:00 PM during visitation
at the funeral home.

David Baker 1955 – 2013
James David Baker 58, of Greenup passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at
St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington WV.
He was born in Ashland KY on February 2, 1955 a son of Letha
Jane Adkins Baker of Greenup and the late Clyde Thurman Baker.
He was preceded in death along with his father
by a son, John Baker in 1982.
He was retired Operator at Dupont Chemicals in Wurtland KY.
He is survived
along with his mother by his wife, Cheryl Jo Walters Baker; a daughter, Sarah Nichole (Douglas Brown) James of Greenup; three
step daughters, Danielle (Gabe Winbauer) Nolan of Portland OR, Jamie (Joseph Filiatreau) Hall of Georgetown KY and Alexandra
Stockham of Greenup and six grandchildren, Bella Brown, Clay Hall, Layla Hollins, Charles Nolan, Lilli Greer and Gabe Greer.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY
by Brother Kail Ruffner.
Relatives and friends can visit with the family from 5:00 PM till the time of service
on Tuesday at the funeral home.

James Robert Palmer 1948 - 2013
James Robert Palmer 65, of Greenup went to be with his lord and savior on
Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on Alcorn in Greenup County on February 17, 1948 a son of
Ruth Elizabeth Potter Palmer of Greenup and the late James Marshall Palmer.
He was a retired Master Sergeant with
the U.S. Air Force, a former evidence officer for the Ashland Police Department, a member of the Greenup Christian Church
where he served as a deacon and a member of the Town Hill Gang during the shootouts at Greenup Old Fashion Days.
Along with his mother he is survived by his wife Delores Lee Sparks Palmer; a son, Scott Palmer and his wife Julie of Elizabeth
City NC; a daughter, Ali Terry and her husband Craig of Ashland; a brother, Scott Palmer and his wife Martha of Flatwoods;
three sisters, Brenda Settles of Cannonsburg and Debbie Baca and Marsha Palmer both of Troy OH; eight grandchildren, Matthew
Palmer, Bradlee Palmer, Braydon Terry, Mattie Colm, Rachel Wells, Samantha Wells, Jeffery Wells and Joshua Guy and one great
grandchild, Jordan Wells.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, May, 20, 2013 at the Greenup Christian Church
by Brother Jim Girdwood.
Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE with military graveside rites
by the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Wright’s Funeral Home and one hour
before the service Monday at the church.

Elwood Stevens 1934 – 2013
Forrest Elwood Stevens 78, of Argillite went to be with the lord on Friday,
May 10, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Argillite on December 9, 1934 a son of the late Henry Harmon &
Mintie Elizabeth Elliott Stevens.
He was a retired Carman for CSX Railroad, a farmer and avid horseman helping
establish the horse riding trails at Greenbo Lake State Park.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by
his wife Gladys Jana Bradley Stevens in 1999; a son Kenneth Elwood Stevens; a daughter, Linda Gayle Stevens; a brother, Charles
Stevens and three sisters, Grace Hatfield, Polly Nichols and Eva Baldridge.
He is survived by three daughters;
Paula Lynn Stevens of Argillite, Ronda Louise Stephens and her husband Jarold of Wurtland and Autumn Rae Stevens of Argillite;
two brothers, Clarence “Tucker” Stevens and his wife Joyce and William “Bill” Stevens and his wife
Pat all of Greenup; three grandchildren, Zachary Leadingham, Shaun Stephens and Ian Stephens; three great grandchildren Mayi
Leadingham, Braxton Terry and Trenton Stephens; a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and a “Special Son”
Jamie Barnett.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup
by Brother Tom Jackson.
Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery in Argillite.

She was born in Marion OH on July 4, 1975 a daughter
of the late Larry Aster Hopkins and Betty Jean Hall Hopkins of Greenup.
She is survived along with her mother by
her husband Eddie Sergent of Richmond KY; a son; Tyler Michael Hampton of Greenup; two daughters, Alisha Brooke Hampton of
Ashland and Destiny Star Sergent of Greenup; a brother Larry Aster Hopkins Jr. of Dayton OH and her maternal grandmother Mary
Hall of Greenup.

April 30, 2013 at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods KY.
She was born in Wellston OH on June 16, 1948 a daughter of Phyllis
Geneva Neal Phillips and the late Albert Dale Phillips.
She was a registered nurse and attended the Lloyd Nazarene
Church.
Her family especially her grandchildren was the love of her life.
She is survived by her husband,
David Earl Wheatley of Lloyd; a son, David Dale Wheatley and his wife Lisa of South Shore; two daughters, Bobbi Jo Baker and
her husband Floyd of Seattle WA and Kristin Willis and her husband Will of South Shore; two brothers, Gregory Wayne Phillips
of Jackson OH and Michael Curtis Phillips of Hamden OH; a sister, Karen Masters of Londonderry OH; seven grandchildren, Hartley
Rogers, Kylee Hull, Tanner Rogers, Kierstyn Boggs, Gabriel Baker, Alexandra Baker and Paige Wheatley; and one great grandchild,
Tucker Dale Rogers.

She was born in Load KY on March 30, 1916, a daughter
of the late Ed & Nettie Nichols Johnson.
She was a charter member of the Load Enterprise Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband Carl Braden in 1989; a brother, Gilbert Johnson and
two sisters, Ruth Stoltz and Magdalene Johnson.
She is survived by a son Larry Dale Braden and his wife Louise
of Wurtland; a daughter Joyce Lee Ward and her husband Howard of Troy OH; five grandchildren, Bryan Ward, Shawn Braden, Teresa
Salyers, Shayla Hicks and Andrew Burns; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

be with the lord on Tuesday April 16, 2013 in Lake Wales.
She was born in Greenup County KY on April 23, 1916
a daughter of the late Arch & Lillie Robirds Robertson.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by
her husband Edgar Rhoden in 1997.
She is survived by her daughter Rita Nicely and her husband Gene of Lake Wales;
two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday April
21, 2013 at Kehoe Cemetery in Greenup County Kentucky by Dr. Thomas Melvin.

Wilma Craft 1939 - 2013
Wilma Jean Thompson Craft, 74, of Flatwoods, KY went home to her Lord &
Savior on April 14, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.
She was born March 17, 1939 in Portsmouth
OH, the daughter of the late Allen & Geneva Thompson.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Andrew
Craft, whom she married on December 23, 1958.
Mrs. Craft attended Wurtland High School and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raceland, KY; she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Ray Craft; a grandson, Leslie Shawn Barker
and a daughter-in-law Sherry Watson Craft.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by eight children: Kathy
& Curtis Barker of Lloyd, KY; David Jr. & Kim Craft of Flatwoods, KY; Janette & Paul Hunt of Tazewell, TN; Tonia
& David Thompson of Greenup, KY; Roy Craft of Wurtland, KY; Terry & Brenda Craft of Pedro, OH; Jerry & Angie Craft
of Flatwoods, KY; Tim & Tina Craft of Raceland, KY. Thirteen grandchildren: Justin Barker, Sandie Rhinehimer, Candie Summers,
Jeremy Craft, Brandi Branscomb, Bryson Hunt, Jessica Womack, Mitchell Craft, Lindsey Craft, Nada Ferguson, Jerry Craft Jr.,
Ashley Craft & Scotty Craft; and five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister in law, Bill & Mary Thompson, a sister

March 26, 2013 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.
She was born in Barboursville WV on November
13, 1953 a daughter of Martha Mae Nicely Eplin of Raceland KY and the late Wandel Eplin.
She was a Special Education
teacher at Heritage Elementary School in Carter County, a graduate of Morehead State University and was of the Christian faith.
She is survived along with her mother by her husband, Roger Hambrick of Worthington; three sons, Christopher Hambrick
and his wife Julie of Milton KY, Jeff Hambrick and his wife Christine of Worthington and Jeremy Hambrick of Raceland; a maternal
grandmother, Hester Shirley “Nanny” Nicely of Flatwoods; a brother, Mike Eplin and his wife Louise of Worthington;
a sister, Angela Bruner and her husband Kevin of Owensboro KY and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be
at 1:00 PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd KY by Brother Mike Hambrick.

Freda Louise Keeney 77, of Greenup went to be with the lord on Friday March
15, 2013 at Community Hospice in Ashland KY.
She was born in Russell KY on February 1, 1936 a daughter to the
late Thomas B. & Barbara Ellen Stewart Ratcliff.
She was a member of the Greenup First Baptist Church where
she was an assistant Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death along with her parents
by her husband Walter Stuart Keeney along with two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, William
T. Keeney of Ashland and Lawrence C. Keeney of Greenup; three daughters, Barbara Oney of Ashland, Virginia Beth Hall and her
husband John of Lexington and Ellen Douglas of Versailles; a brother, Glen Ratcliff of Florida; a sister, Shirley Waskey of
Flatwoods; five grandchildren, Jason Oney, Jerri Oney (her caregiver), Nathan Douglas, Molly Douglas and Billy Keeney; three
great grandchildren, Cassie Oney, Victoria Duffy and Quinn Oney; along with her best friend and sister in law Carol Abdon
of Greenup.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup

James Marshall Palmer 88, of Greenup went to be with the lord on Monday,
March 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell KY.
He was born on Alcorn in Greenup County on May
25, 1924 the oldest son of the late Clarence & Emma Marshall Palmer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving
in WW II, a retired laborer with CSX Railroad, a member of the Fireman’s and Oilers Union and a member of the Christian
Fellowship Independent Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by a granddaughter Jessi
Baca.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Elizabeth Potter Palmer; two sons, James R. Palmer and his wife Delores
of Greenup and Scott D. Palmer and his wife Martha of Flatwoods; three daughters, Brenda Settles of Cannonsburg and Debbie
Baca and Marsha Palmer both of Troy Ohio; a brother, Clarence Palmer Jr. of Texas; two sisters, Shirley Steele of Glenn Haven
Florida and Delores Hall of Greenup; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was retired
from the Holiday Inn in South Point where she was the restaurant manager and was a member of the Sheridan Freewill Baptist
Church.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband John W. Crawford in 1992.
She
is survived by two sons, John Everett Crawford and his wife Robin and Jim Lee Crawford and his wife Cheryl all of South Point;
a daughter, Jondia Renee Steele and her husband Steve of Amelia OH; two sister, Eunice Martin of Greenupand Becky Hurskins
of Cleveland OH; three grandchildren, John Andrew Crawford of Ashland, Richard Kelly Thompson of Batavia OH, Larin Crawford-Barham
of Ashland and April Rife of South Point and three great grandchildren, Ryker Thompson, Raegan Barham and Skylar Blake.

He was born in Warnock KY on August 26, 1926 a son of
the late Tilden & Mary Jane Johnson Allen.
We was retired from Kinner Lumber Co. in Greenup, was a Korean War
Veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.
He was proceeded is death
along with his parents by his wife, Edna Mae Coburn Allen; a son, Bunyon Allen; a brother, Noah Allen and a sister, Linda
Kibbey.
He is survived by a daughter, Rita Mae Thornton of Greenup; four grandchildren, Shanda Litteral and her
husband Shawn of Wurtland, Andrea Neace and her husband Dustin of Lawton OK, Andrew Thornton and his wife Haleigh of Russell

Larry Joseph Pinkerman 70, of Load KY went to be with the lord on Monday,
January 14, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Page WV on December 26, 1942 a son of the late Ira & Mildred
Ruth Rowe Pinkerman.
He was a retired union pipefitter and a member of Pipefitters Local 50 in Toledo OH.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Louise Hopkins Pinkerman in 2008 and a daughter Teresa
Ann Pinkerman.
He is survived by a son, Larry Joe Pinkerman and his wife Lori of Monclova OH; a daughter, Rebecca
Dawn Gannon and her husband Brian of Colegrove OH; five sisters, Betty Dean of Dearing OH, Juanita Markel of Colegrove, Deloris
Leake of Ashland, Gloria Schwab of Ironton and Jean Childres of Colegrove; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Donald Earl Warren 65 of Greenup KY went to be with the lord Monday, January
7, 2013 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell KY.
He was born on April 30, 1947 in Ashland KY a son of
the late Chester L. & Frances I. Bates Warren.
He was a retired assembly worked for Ford Motor Company and
a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife Marilyn Veree Thomas Warren in
2011.
He is survived by a daughter Tracie Lynn Butler and her husband Wade of Ashland; a sister, Rebecca Jacqueline
Clark and her husband Clyde of Ann Arbor MI; two grandchildren, Britney and Amanda and two nieces, Jennifer Grob and her husband
Mark and Jeanette Brenner and her husband John.
