Gladys Taylor Hood

Gladys Taylor Hood, 87, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Monroe Health & Rehab in Tompkinsville. She was born in Cumberland Co., KY on March 4, 1923, to the late Alex Taylor & Sibbie Elena Eads Taylor. She was a member of the Berea Church of Christ, a retired homemaker, and the widow of Leston Hood.

She is survived by one son & daughter-in-law: Bobby & Wanda Hood of Tompkinsville; one daughter & son-in-law: Barbara & Rondall Proffitt of Tompkinsville; two sisters: Sue Hitner of New Albany, IN; Joyce Alene Short of Bowling Green, KY; 5 grandchildren: Gina Fish, James Proffitt, William Hood, Sheila & Sheryl Jackson; 3 great-grandchildren: Jaimie & Joshua Proffitt, Lewis Fish; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Kaleigh & Dalton Fish

In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Sandra E. Jackson, & Betty & Wanda Hood, two brothers, Alex Taylor, Jr., & James Taylor, and two sisters, Ruby Brown & Anna Vernell Davis. Also preceded in death by two grandchildren Vickie & Steven Jackson
.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Monroe Co. Memorial Lawn.

Friends may call at the Strode Funeral Home after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
