Douglas R. Lyons, age 79, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away
Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at his home.
He was
born in Monroe County, KY on May 23, 1931 to the late Lorene Gammon Lyons and Tip Lyons. He was a retired oiler and a member
of the Rockbridge Baptist Church and the widower of Flora Hazel Lyons, who died December 13, 2007.
He is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law: Paul Douglas and Debbie,
Bobby Joe and Stephanie, Terry Reed and Brian Scott Lyons all of Mooresville, IN, one brother: Eddie Dale Lyons of New Palestine,
IN, 10 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren.
In
addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother Orville Earl Lyons and two sisters Nancy Pearl Deckard
and Edith Leona Reeves.
Funeral services will
be conducted Saturday, July 10 at 11 AM at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with burial to follow in the Old
Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the
Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville after 4 PM on Friday.
