IN MEMORY OF: 
Roger Dale Rich

Roger Dale Rich, age 59, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Monroe County on March 25, 1950 to the late Elzie Rich and Dolly Crowe Rich.  He had worked as a mechanic.

He is survived by two daughters & sons-in-law: Pam & Eddie Hammer of Tompkinsville, KY;  Sherry & BrianTyree of Scottsburg, IN; two sisters; Betty McIntyre of  Tompkinsville, KY; Joann Dickman of Gainesboro, TN;  Five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with burial in the Moore Cemetery in Moss, TN.

Friends may call after 5 PM Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Moore Cemetery.

Dewey A. Barnes

Dewey A. Barnes, age 86, of Tompkinsville, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at the Monroe Health & Rehab in Tompkinsville. He was born in Monroe Co., KY on March 30, 1923, to the late Palo Barnes and Nellie Page Barnes. He was a retired farmer and member of the Athens Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Nelda Pitcock Barnes of Tompkinsville, KY; two sons: J. T. Barnes and Paul Barnes & wife Wilma, both of Glasgow, KY; one daughter: Anita Riley & husband Robert of Tompkinsville, KY; one brother: Hughie Barnes of Tompkinsville, KY; one sister: Beulah Barnes Reagan of Tompkinsville, KY, Five grandchildren, One great-grandchild

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Buena Tyree.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Monroe Co. Memorial Lawn.

Friends may call after 5 PM on Thursday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Athens Baptist Church Building Fund.

Avo Turner

Avo Turner, age 85, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, December 29 at the Glasgow Health and Rehab in Glasgow, KY.

She was born in Monroe County, KY on August 20, 1924 to the late Grover Turner and Ida Turner.  She was the widow of Marvin J. Turner and a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter Sandra Dean of Bowling Green, KY, special caretaker Lori Pitcock of Mt. Hermon, KY, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Oddis Turner and Wayne Turner, two sisters Ruby Gentry and Anna Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 31 at 10 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Monroe County.

Friends may call at Strode Funeral Home after 5 PM on Wednesday.

IN MEMORY OF:
Edgar Smith Turner

Edgar Smith Turner, age 85, life long resident of Monroe County, departed this life on Monday, December 28, 2009  at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY, after a lengthy illness.

He was the son of the late William H. & Nellie Turner, loving husband, father, & grandfather. He was a farmer & member & deacon of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe Co.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years Anna Dean Isenberg Turner. One son Clay Dell Turner (Janice Lane), of Summer Shade. One daughter Doris Nell Smith (Danny) of Tompkinsville. One sister Alta Napier of Louisville. One brother Beacham Turner of Louisville.

Six grandchildren, Melisa Spears, Maria Morgan (Steve), Danielle Wheat (Derreck) of Tompkinsville. Tracy Rials (Steve), Trisha Shackleford (Jeff), and Tiffany Martindale (Barrett) of Missippi.

9 Great Grand Children, Chelsey & Chantz Spears, Amber & Ashley Morgan, Lily Butler, Shannon Jetter, Emma Martindale, Harley Shackleford, Anna Rials. Several cousins, nieces, & nephews also survive.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Delzie Wooten three brothers Harlen, Leland and Lawrence Turner

Services will be Thursday, December 31 at 1 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, Visitation  will be after 4 PM Wednesday. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Monroe Co.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to New Salem Missionary Baptist Church
