Judy Ann Bragg Hardesty

Judy Ann Bragg Hardesty - age 64 of Matewan, WV passed away Sunday; April 13, 2014 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY.  Born October 5, 1949 in Glen Alum, WV; she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Vella Cisco Bragg.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Hardesty and her baby boy Ricky Lee Short.

Judy was a homemaker and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include 3 brothers Jessie Nolan Bragg Jr. of Merrimac, WV, Ralph Bragg of Cleveland, OH, and Billy Bragg of Sarah Ann, WV.  Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday; April 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. David Blankenship officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mahon-Kennedy Cemetery at Beech Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorothea McGuire

Dorothea McGuire - age 71 of Fairview Addition; Williamson, WV passed away Saturday; April 5, 2014 at the Signature Healthcare Center in Pikeville, KY.  Born December 26, 1942 in Williamson, WV; she was the daughter of the late Andy B. and Lucinda Jarrell Evans.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Cecil McGuire and 2 brothers Bruce E. Evans and C.R. "Dick" Evans.

Dorothea was a beautician for several years before obtaining her LPN license and working for several years at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williamson.

Survivors include her sister Delores (Charles Ronnie) Williamson of Whitwell, TN; 8 nieces and nephews, and her special friends John Caines, Kate Evans, and Fred and Geri Layne.

Also surviving is a host of other friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday; April 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Pastor Jarrod Belcher officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in West Williamson with men of the First Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler, KY.

Charles Richard "Rick" Parrigin of Ooltewah, TN formerly of McAndrews, KY passed away Wednesday; April 2, 2014 at the Park Ridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.  Born March 10, 1955 in Williamson, WV; he was the son of Alfred Parrigin of McAndrews, KY and the late Delta Moore Parrigin.

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Ernestine and William G. "Buster" Varney of Turkey Creek, KY.

Rick was a retired electrician from Eastern Coal Company and he retired from the Farleys and Sathers Candy Company having worked in the maintenance, mechanical, and electrical department.  He attended the Greenwood Baptist Church in Ooltewah, TN.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife April Varney Parrigin of Ooltewah, TN; 3 sisters Fran (Buster) Varney, Linda Kunz (Ance Chafin), and Mandy (Mike) Smith all of McAndrews, KY; his sister-in-law Rita Thomas Barbery of Harrison, TN; nieces Nikki DeMurray and Cindie Cruze; nephews Jason and Jamie Varney, Paul R. Hensley, and Frazier H. Barbery Jr.; great-niece Samantha Cruze; great-nephews Daniel and Dylan DeMurray, J.C. Cruze, Jordan H. Barbery, Frazier Harrison Barbery III, and
a god-son Gabriel Thomas Green of Lexington, KY.

Also surviving is a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday; April 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elders Richard Staten, Hobart Hamilton, and Danny Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Saturday evening at the funeral home with a special service at 7:00 P.M. with Steve Spurlock and James Justice speaking.

Wesley Derek Williamson

Wesley Derek Williamson - age 53 of Belfry, KY passed away Thursday; March 27, 2014 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.  Born August 7, 1960 in Pike County, KY; he was the son of Eunice Blackburn Williamson of Belfry, KY and the late Eugene Williamson.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother Dale Williamson.

Derek was a former dozer operator in the coal mining industry and he was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife April Renee Williamson of Belfry, KY; daughter Tiffany Blankenship (J.D. McCoy) of Williamson, WV; brother Reggie (Tinkie) Williamson of Pikeville, KY; 2 granddaughters Zoey Gibson and CaraLee McCoy; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday; March 31, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elder Mike Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Loney Hatfield

Loney Hatfield - age 75 of Thacker, WV passed away Monday; March 17, 2014 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV.  Born October 11, 1938 at Pikeville, KY; she was the daughter of the late Fonso and Oma Blankenship.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Edward "Bob" Hatfield; 1 son Steve Hatfield; 3 brothers Danny K., J.C., and Bobby Gene Blankenship; and a loving sister-in-law Nancy Blankenship.

Loney was a homemaker and attended the Faith Mission Church in Jesus' Name at McCarr, KY.

Survivors include her children Michael (Sherry) Hatfield of Morristown, TN, Susan (Jake) McCoy of Ironton, OH, Elizabeth (Mike) Beach of Lexington, KY, Priscilla (James) Blevins of Lexington, KY, and Tina (Jasher) Norman of Freeburn, KY; 2 brothers Harold Blankenship of Illinois and Kenneth Blankenship of Thacker, WV; 3 sisters Phyllis (Herbert) Glissendorf of Illinois, Iris Lee (Red) Daniels of Thacker, WV, and Della Ray (Roy) Browning of Hardy, KY; her grandchildren Edward Ray Hatfield, Penny Chaffins, Joshua McCoy, Kristy Dawn Hatfield, Daniel Hatfield, Valerie Norman, and Gabrielle Blevins.

Also surviving is a host of great-grandchildren and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; March 22, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Jimmy Fields officiating.  Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at #2 Hollow; Thacker, WV with family and friends as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home with special singing at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening and services at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening.

Nancy Jane Jude White Hensley - age 89 of Dan's Branch; Borderland, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday; March 13, 2014 from the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY.  Born November 27, 1924 at Wolf Creek, KY; she was the daughter of the late James "Jim" and Betty Stacy Jude.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Frankie White; 1 daughter Bessie Louise White; 2 grandchildren McKenna White and Deborah Robinson; 1 great-grandchild Caleb Michael Robinson; 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Rosie Old Regular Baptist Church at Chattaroy.

Survivors include her husband John Henry Hensley of Dan's Branch; her children Betty Jean (Bill) Armstrong of Shreveport, LA, James Harvey (the late Pauline) White of Dan's Branch, Alonzo (Nancy) White of Chattaroy, WV, Oscar (HuaQing) White of Soperton, GA, Rebecca (Larry) Hackney of McAndrews, KY, Edna Mae (Butch) Scott of Chattaroy, WV, Paul (Lynn) White of Willis, TX, Darrell (Melissa) White of Dan's Branch, and Richard (Mary) White of Chattaroy, WV.

Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday; March 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elder Elbert Sesco officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lackey Cemetery at Laurel Creek; Lenore, WV with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Saturday with a special service at 7:00 P.M. with Bro. Gene Burnett and other United Baptist Ministers officiating and after 12:00 P.M. Sunday with a special service at 7:00 P.M. with Elders Elbert Sesco, Wayne Hearld Jr., Thomas Dials, and Albert Cable officiating.

Timothy David McFarland

Timothy David McFarland - age 55 of McCarr, KY passed away Friday; March 7, 2014 at his residence following a lingering illness.  Born August 21, 1958 in Williamson, WV; he was the son of Betty Maynard McFarland of Williamson, WV and the late Glenn B. McFarland.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister Robin McFarland of Williamson, WV and his grandparents James and Edith Maynard and Glenn and Bessie McFarland.

Timmy was a graduate of the Williamson High School Class of 1976, a former coal miner with Farley Brothers, and he was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife Kathy DeLong McFarland of McCarr, KY; 2 nephews Brian Hensley (great-niece Madison Hensley) and Scott and Jen Hensley (great-nephew Jarred and great-niece Kayley Hensley) all of Jasper, TN; step-daughter Ann Marie Ball of Williamson, WV; step-son Jeffrey (Sherri) DeLong of Burnwell, KY; 5 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, aunt Doris (Jim) Kelly of Portsmouth, OH, uncle George (Earleane) Maynard of Logan, OH, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday; March 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Grace Baptist Temple in West Williamson with Rev. Ron Sanger officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV with Jeffery DeLong, Brian Hensley, Scott Hensley, Mike Dillon, and Charles "Chuck" Ratliff serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.  The body will lie in state 1 hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the Grace Baptist Temple.

Blain Terry Grace - age 60 of Louisa, KY passed away Thursday; March 6, 2014 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.  Born December 31, 1953 at Kermit, WV; he was the son of the late Ira and Velva Stanley Grace.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Sally McCoy Grace.

He was a disabled heavy equipment mechanic.

Survivors include his children Michelle (Jamie) Varney of Pikeville, KY, Terry Keith (Sabrina) Grace and Christopher Grace of Borderland, WV; 1 brother Larry (Tina) Grace of Borderland, WV; 1 sister Vonnie Rose Lewis of Lenore, WV; his friend and caregiver Billy LeMaster of Louisa, KY; special nieces Jamie McCoy, Sweet Pea McCoy, and Angel Thacker; special nephew Nathan Vanhoose; 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday; March 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elder Eddie Layne officiating.  Burial will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery at Day Star Road; Delbarton, WV.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Roger Lee Prater - age 63 of Stopover, KY passed away Monday; February 24, 2014 at the home of his sister at McCarr, KY.  Born October 22, 1950 in Woodman, KY; he was the son of the late Bessie Prater and the late Jimmy Lee "Edward" Justice.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his companion Donna Hopson; his son Rodger Lee Prater; and several aunts and uncles.

Roger was retired from the N&W Railroad and he was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his step-father and his wife James and Jean Sellards of Vulcan, WV; 2 sisters Myrtle Coleman of McCarr, KY and Barbara (L.C.) Coleman of Hardy, KY; special friends Jimmy and Margaret Beasley of Majestic, KY;  special niece Terri (Rodney) Lell of Georgetown, KY; special nephews Ron (Ann Marie) Murphy of Sparta, TN and William "Bull" Hurley of Hardy, KY; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday; February 28, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with William Prater officiating.  Burial will follow in the Looney Curve Cemetery at Devon, WV.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home with a special service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening.

Lucille (Edwards) Simpkins, 92 of Lebanon, OH formerly of Beech Creek, WV passed away after a brief illness on Thursday; February 20, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Cincinnati, OH.  Born September 28, 1921 in South Williamson, KY; she was the daughter of Hezekiah and Ruth (Mosher) Edwards who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Mack Simpkins, a son Danny Simpkins of Winston Salem, NC, one grandchild Elizabeth Simpkins of Beech Creek, WV, and 2 great-grandchildren Jeffrey Simpkins of Las Vegas, NV and Jacob Blankenship of Red Jacket, WV, and by 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church of Blackberry, KY.

She is survived by 1 daughter and 6 sons, Lottie (Bill) Meador of Albuquerque, NM, Roger (Della) of Huntington, WV, Emmett (Sandy) of Rineyville, KY, Johnny (Karen) of Beech Creek, WV, Lonnie of Beech Creek, WV, Wesley (Rhonda) of Huntington, WV, and Terry (Gail) of Lebanon, OH whom she had been living with the past 6 years.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grand-children, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday; February 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elders Jeff Dotson, Paul Varney, and Shawn Dotson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Simpkins Family Cemetery on the Right Hand Fork of Beech Creek, WV.  Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home with a service to be held at 7:00 P.M.

Anna Marie Cisco - age 86 of Beech Creek, WV passed away Thursday; February 20, 2014 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY.  Born January 3, 1928 in McDowell County, WV; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine Richards Bell.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Marion Cisco; 2 sons Harlon Cisco and Mark Cisco; 2 daughters Yvonne Lawson and Shirley Cisco; 2 brothers Marvin Bell and Harry M. Bell; and a half sister Ella Mae Hatfield

She was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children John (Helen) Cisco of Varney, WV, Irene Lawson (Charlie Akers) of Matewan, WV, Stephen "Ernie" Cisco (Bernice Gibson) of Varney, WV, and Emma (Ed) Murphy of Beech Creek, WV; half brothers Harry Bales and Major Bowles both of Mt. Vernon, OH; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler KY.  At 1:00 P.M. the procession will depart to go to the Cisco Cemetery on Grapevine Fork at Beech Creek, WV for burial.

Ruby Allene Francis - age 89 of Nicholasville, KY formerly of Hatfield, KY passed away Friday; February 14, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY.  Born June 20, 1924 in Pike County, KY; she was the daughter of the late Orison and Josie Horn Runyon.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Harrison Francis; 1 son Harrison Francis Jr.; 4 grandchildren Michael Vinson, Stephen Francis, Newell Barnett Jr., and Jennifer Kay Barnett; and several brothers and sisters.

Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the McVeigh United Baptist Church.

Survivors include her 5 daughters Anna (Glenn) Wilson, with whom she made her home, of Nicholasville, KY, Bonnie Boscoe of Vermillion, OH, Rose Roark of Lorain, OH, Janet Barnett of Bradenton, FL, and Joan (David) Wilhite of Nicholasville, KY; 2 sisters Sarah "Sis" Francis Maynard of Hatfield, KY and Ressie Parsley of Williamson, WV; and a host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and friends; and her special buddy her little dog Cooper.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday; February 18, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Rev. Haskell Runyon Jr. and Rev. Freddie Runyon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery at Hatfield, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home with a special service at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening.

Everett Elmer Johnson - age 70 of Goodman Hollow; Williamson, WV passed away Monday; February 10, 2014 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.  Born February 19, 1943 in Williamson, WV; he was the son of the late Elmer and Octavia Canterbury Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Estaline Chapman Johnson; 2 sons Kim "Kool Aid" Johnson and Kip Johnson; and several brothers.

Everett retired from the N&W Railroad and was currently working as a security guard for TMK Security.

Survivors include 2 sons Ken "Shorty" Johnson and Kit "Rambo" Johnson both of Williamson, WV; 1 daughter Saranda King of Belva, WV; 1 brother William Johnson of Chattaroy, WV; his grandchildren Tiffany Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Kimberly Johnson; his great-grandchildren Kynleigh Smith, Kaylee Smith, McKenna and Clair Johnson, and Jeremiah Johnson.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home.  In honoring his wishes, the body will be cremated following the visitation.
