|
Christopher Earl & Laura Ann Nardine passed away Saturday,
March 13, 2010 at their home.
Laura was born Nov. 28, 1963 in Vincennes, the daughter of Richard & Veronica
(Nash) Kopp. She was the owner of Scruples, and was also an instructor of fashion merchandising at Vincennes University. A
member of St. John Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Herb Society, and was serving as co-president of the Vincennes
Central Business District. Laura & Chris both graduated from Rivet High School, and Laura was a graduate of Indiana
University.
Chris was born June 2, 1962 in Vincennes, the son of Alfred,Sr. and Janice (Lawson) Nardine. He was
the district assistant safety supervisor for INDOT. Chris's memberships included the Elks, Knights of Columbus, St. John
Catholic Church, and he was a three time past president of the Harmony Society. A graduate of Vincennes University, he had
attended Purdue University.
Survivors include their parents Richard & Veronica Kopp, and Alfred, Sr. and Janice
Nardine, all of Vincennes; Chris & Laura's sons, Shane Christopher & Zachary Earl Nardine of Vincennes; Laura's
brother Matt (& Nuria) Kopp of Tampa, Fl; Chris's brothers Michael (& Laurel) Nardine, Vincennes, Geoffrey Nardine
of Cambodia, Richard (& Thuy) of Vietnam, Alfred, Jr. (& Lisa) Nardine of Wheatland, IN; his sister, Leslie (&
Joe Reichert) Nardine of Woodbury, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Chris's sister, Lisa Ann Nardine, preceded him.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 - 8:00, on Wednesday, March 17, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway,
Vincennes, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will
be Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Catholic Church, or the
Vincennes Pet Port.

In Memory of: Dorothy E. Pruitt
|
Dorothy E. Pruitt, 97, of Vincennes, passed away at 8:20 A.M.
Sunday March 14, 2010 at Gentle Care Nursing Center with her family at her bedside.
She was born March 26, 1912
in Shelbyville, Indiana to Otto & Clara (Garlich) Thuis.
She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church
where she was a Eucharist minister. She was president of the St. Anne Altar Society for two years. Dorothy received the Brute
Award from the Bishop for her volunteer work at the church. She belonged to the Legion of Mary, K of C Ladies Auxiliary, Grandmother’s
Club, Homemakers Club #1, and Generations. She was a volunteer for various nursing homes by serving communion to the
shut-ins. She volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital as a Gray Lady. Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator at the
Grand Hotel until its closing and at the Kum Back Inn as switchboard operator and bookkeeper. She and her husband owned
and operated the Dixie Drive-In.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Lisa) Pruitt of Vidalia, Georgia, Judie
Long of Vincennes, Glenda Emmett of Vincennes, Larry Pruitt of Monroe City, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three
great-great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband, Roy D. Pruitt, her husband of 53 years, a son, Roy E. Pruitt, and a brother, Raymond Thuis.
A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the St. John Catholic Church with Rev. David Fleck and Rev. Donald
Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from
4-8 Monday evening at Goodwin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gentle
Care Nursing Home or the St. John Catholic Church.

|
Robert Glenn Cooper Sr., 79, beloved husband and father,
of 5456 East Wheatland Road, Vincennes, passed into the hands of God March 12, 2010 at 1:20 AM in Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born July 7, 1930 in Vincennes to the late Thomas & Alice Marie (Allen) Cooper.
A
veteran of the Korean War, Robert served as a sergeant with the 62nd Engineer Construction Battalion, U.S. Army. Robert
and his brothers also owned and operated the family business, Vincennes Welding Company, until his retirement. He is a 1949
graduate of Lincoln High School in Vincennes. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1 F&AM, as well as a member
of Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine Temple, The American Legion Post 73, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1157 and the Harmony Society.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ethel (Horton) Cooper; three sons, Robert (Melissa) Cooper, Bruce Copper,
& Brian (Beth) Copper; a brother, Larry Cooper; five sisters, Luella Black, Idella (Ralph) Pipher, Nancy Schaefer, Helen
Twitty, Kitty (John) Keller, and Ginger (Norm) Gricus; 18 grandchildren, Robert Cooper III, Jeremy Cooper, Chadwick Cooper,
Christopher Cooper, Cole Cooper, Mallory Stark, Zachary Cooper, Laura Cooper, Cameron Cooper, Nicole Cooper, Hailee Cooper,
Jennifer Haaff, Belinda Lawson, Emily Dunbar, Carolyn Schniepp, Douglas Horton, Alexander Church, and Ashley Church; seven
great –grandchildren, Karson Stark, Avery Haaff, Elizabeth Haaff, Trevor Lawson, Kailey Lawson, Rebecca Dunbar, and
Callie Meadows.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Cooper, a son, David
Cooper, and a brother, Thomas Cooper.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Goodwin
Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Julian officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit
with the family from 4-8 Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Shriners
Children’s Hospital.

Ethyl Artisha Jackson, 100, Vincennes, passed away 1:20 PM
Friday March 12, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born July 25, 1909 in Montgomery, Indiana to Bert &
Hattie (Perkins) Wininger.
Ethyl graduated in 1928 from Lincoln High School and was a member of the First Church
of God. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory and was a cook at Number 1 School for several years.
She is survived
by a daughter, Lida Gerken and her husband John of Oaktown, a son-in- law, Melvin Abel of Vincennes, two-step daughters, Betty
Hall and her husband Dick of Vincennes, Linda Hanson of Albany, GA, a step-son Robert Schutter and his wife Pat of Bruceville;
five grandchildren, Connie Mize, Larry Gerken, Joy Steimel, Jim Abel, & Amy Welte; 13 great-grandchildren, Melissa Holmes,
Nikki Monroe, Natalie Newmun, Courtney Mize, Tiffany Gerken, Jessica Gerken, Meghan Lafferty, Karla Steimel, Kari Steimel,
James Abel, Cheyenne Welte, and Mason Welte; six great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, James Martin, Fred Schutter, and Ira Jackson; a daughter,
Sondra Abel; an infant son; sisters, Viola Wininger, Agnes Vinson, Eleanor Tade, & Edna Lukiing; brothers Ray, Albert,
& Paris Wininger; step daughter, Carolyn Pixley; and step-son William Schutter and his wife Jean; and two step-grandchildren,
Brent Pixley, and Eugene McCormick.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday March 16th 2010 at Goodwin Funeral
Home with Rev. Georg Karl officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the

Evelyn Thais Snyder, 92, of Vincennes, passed away at
1:49 A.M. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born May 29, 1917, in Vincennes, to Ed and
Rose (Schultz) Fields.
Evelyn was a member of Old Cathedral Catholic Church and a graduate of Lincoln High School.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, traveling and her home in Florida. She was involved
in the Old Cathedral Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, Hoosier
Homemakers, and made projects for the Knox county Fair for made years.
Survivors include her four children, Ed
(Dorothy) Thais of Vincennes, Martha (Don) Yochum of Evansville, David (Sue) Thais of Knoxville, TN and Steven Thais of Vincennes;
six grandchildren, Pam (Jon) Andrews, Bryan (Kay) Thais and Tyra (Rick) Cleveland all of Vincennes, Debra Vaughan of Chattanooga,
TN, Bruce (Marisa) Yochum of Sparks, NV and Susan Yochum of Chattanooga, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Ciara Wright, Katlyn
Thais, Shadai Vaughan, Blaize Thais, Bryan Andrews, Matthew Cleveland, Cassie Cleveland and Erick Cleveland; two great-great-grandchildren,
Carmen and Cory Wright and sister-in-law, Gladys Fields. Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Louis B. Thais who passed away December 12, 1957; second husband,
John S. Snyder who passed away August 13, 1982 and two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Fields and Marion “Barney”
Fields.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, March 15 at Old Cathedral Catholic Church
will Rev. John Schipp and Deacon Don Yochum as celebrants. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM (Vincennes time) at Goodwin Funeral Home 524 Broadway St. A memorial service
will be held at 6:00 PM

Louise Richter Campbell was born March 11, 1915 to Herman and
Anna Buckthal Richter. She passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the New Willow Manor.
Louise worked at
Crane Naval Depot during WWII, Kixmiller’s Store, Hill’s Department Store and after moving to Arizona, at Campus
Drugstore. She moved back to Vincennes in 2001 and resided at Fox Ridge Manor. She was a member of St. John’s
United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Brooks; her second
husband, Royce Campbell; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Pepmeier; one grandson; one great-grandson; two sisters
and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jim) Clinkenbeard; six grandsons, Randy (Jan) Pepmeier,
Michael Pepmeier, Mark (Ann) Pepmeier, Brian (Karen) Clinkenbeard, Scott (Liz) Clinkenbeard and Rodney (Christine) Clinkenbeard;
eleven great- grandchildren; four step great -grandchildren; five great- great- grandchildren and one step great- great grandchild;
one very special niece, Glatha Hemme; nieces Phyllis Sweeney, Gayle Perkins and nephews, Marvin, Garland and Joe Richter.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery
in Freelandville with Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson officiating.

D. Irene Harrell, 93, formerly of Monroe City, passed away
at 7:08 PM March 9, 2010 in the New Willow Manor. She was born July 8th, 1916 in Jackson County, Indiana to Louis &
Fay (Maxwell) Mize.
She had worked as a clerk at 3-D and had worked at JC Penny downtown for 10 years. She
was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, loved to cook, and enjoyed working
in the church.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Matt (Jennifer) Hensley, Rusty Hensley, Mark Hensley, Amanda Parman,
Clint Harrell, and Martha Small, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
first husband, Estel Glenn Cooper, second husband, Wade Harrell, a daughter, Linda Godare, a sister, Mabel Holster, and a
brother, James Mize.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 15, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home with
Rev. Ray Tromley officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family

Eugenuia Santos, 68, of 1201 S. 18th, Vincennes, passed away
at 8:30 AM Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at her residence.
She was born September 16, 1941 in Leslie County, Kentucky
to Ellis & Mahala (Huff) Wells.
Eugenuia had worked at Goodwill in Vincennes and was a homemaker. She was
a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving is her husband, Clemente Santos, whom she married June 12,
1970, three daughters, Sharon (Tony) K. Brimhall, Catherine (Floyd) McCoy, both of Princeton, and Mary Dobson of Vincennes;
brothers, Perry Wells of Vincennes, Curwood Wells of Billet Grove, IL and a sister, Mollie Cox of Vincennes. Also
surviving are her grandchildren, Tory Sartore, Lisa Sabraw, Mitchell Stroud Jr., Steven McCoy, Clemente McCoy, Jhonathan Dobson,
Ashley Dobson, Jessica Anthis, and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Noon Friday, March 12,
2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Woodhouse officiating. Entombment will follow in the Bicknell Memorial Garden
Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the service time Friday. Memorials may be made

John Doyle Anderson, 68 of Eddyville, KY and formerly of Vincennes,
passed away Monday March 8th, 2010, after a brief illness, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
John was born October 1, 1941 in Anderson, IN to Francis and Edna (Wright) Anderson.
John spent 31 years as a
delivery truck driver in Knox County for United Parcel Service. He also served Knox County for decades as a volunteer firefighter
and as Vincennes Township Volunteer Fire Chief. After his retirement from UPS he continued to serve the public as a
car salesman for Hudson Ford in Madisonville, KY. He will be remembered for his love for meeting people and making his
clients and his co-workers his friends, his whistling and his love for life and people.
John lived with his beloved
wife of 17 years on Barclay Lake. He loved fishing and time spent with family and friends on the water. He especially loved
taking their grandchildren tubing and boating. He enjoyed golfing and travel with family and the "Indiana Group".
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Shirley (Welton) Compton, and a grandson, Jake Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife, A. Cindy (Knoth) Anderson of Eddyville, KY, whom he married, November 13, 1993, children: Nikki
(Nathan) Cory, Tamra (Tim) Wonning, Brian (Margie) Anderson, all of Vincennes, Kim (Brent) Small of Van Nuys, CA, David (Gina)
Littlepage and Angie (Johnny) Prine, both of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Mia, Collin, Raney, and
Tessa Cory, Jessi Nowaskie, Drew (Rebecca & Colton), Jordan and Sydney Wonning all of Vincennes, Ali & Isaiah Small
of Van Nuys, CA, and Ashley and Austin Litlepage and Alex & Jackson Prine, all of Jacksonville, FL. Brothers: Donald (Marie)

Benjamin A. Strate, 1501 Old Wheatland Rd., Vincennes, passed
away at 9:09 A.M. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born October 18, 1949, in Vincennes,
the son of Max Strate and Lela (Cook) Huff.
Benjamin was a member of First Church of God, and had served in the
National Guard. He was a bookkeeper for Better Business Forms. Ben enjoyed fishing and attending baseball games.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Crawford) Strate, whom he married on November 7, 1969; his mother, Lela (Cook)
Huff; one son, Jeff (Rebekah) Strate of Jacksonville, IL; two brothers, Albert Strate of Florida and Gary Strate of Vincennes;
and one grandchild, Cameron Strate.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his father, Max Strate; one son, John M.
Strate and one sister, Gloria Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, at 11:00 A.M. at First
Church of God, 1408 E. St. Clair St., with Rev. Georg Karl officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the church.

Caleb J. Taylor, 20, of 412 West 6th, Monroe City, passed away
on Friday, February 19, 2010.
He was born May 26, 1989 in Vincennes to James “Jim” A. & Kim (Riker)
Taylor.
Caleb was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, & trapping. He was a 2008 graduate
of South Knox High School and worked for Townsend Tree Trimming Service. Caleb was a member of the Monroe City First Church
of God.
Surviving are his parents, James and Kim Taylor, a sister, Ashly Riker, maternal grandfather, Warren Riker,
Sr., & paternal grandmother Carol S. Merry.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Martha (Kinman)
Riker and paternal grandfather, John Phillip Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, February
23, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Nielson officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury Chapel Cemetery

Bobby “Bob” Gene Warren, 76, of 3240 Douglas Dr.
Vincennes, passed away at 11:55 AM Tuesday February 16, 2010 at his residence.
He was born April 22, 1933 in Knox
County to Arvle James & Agnes Gertrude (Anthis) Warren.
Bob was a homebuilder and was the developer of Warren
Estates. He was a founding board member of the Vincennes Homebuilders Association and one of the founding members of the Vincennes
Township Fire Department. A Korean War veteran, he served in the United States Army where he was a corporal. He belonged
to the Community United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, boating, and tending to his rose garden.
Survivors
include his wife, Ruth Evelyn (Norton) Warren, whom he married June 26, 1955, a daughter, Pamela Denise (Sam) Westfall of
Madisonville, KY, a son, Douglas Gene (Jill) Warren of Vincennes, a sister, Kate LaMar of Indianapolis, three grandchildren,
Erin Nicole Warren, Erika (Trevor) Shepard, Keshia Samonne Westfall and one great-grandchild, Klair Byerley Shepard.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Community United Methodist Church with the Rev.
Ray Tromley and Rev. Valarie Foughty-Killion officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 4-8 pm Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist
Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Goodwin Funeral Home.

of: Antoinette Ann Bosworth
|
Mrs. Antoinette Ann Bosworth passed away on February 15, 2010,
at the Prairie Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington, Indiana. Age 99, she was born on January 4,
1911. Prior to residing at Prairie Village, she had been a life-long resident of the Vincennes, Indiana, area.
Her parents were Hattie Williams Kirk and George J. Kirk. In 1928 she married Gilbert K. Bosworth, who preceded her
in death.
The Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation
will be Thursday, February 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Friday, February 19, at 1:30 p.m. with visitation
an hour prior to the service. All events will be at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bosworth was skilled at fishing,
which was one of her favorite activities. She also enjoyed quilting, and her expertise has provided quilts which are
enjoyed by many of her family members. Her other activities included vegetable gardening, knitting, sewing, and baking.
In her later years she volunteered at Vincennes University as a tour guide for some of the historical areas.
Her
past employment includes the former Brown Shoe Company, Hamilton Glass Company, and the Whirlpool Corp. In her later
years, she also provided in-home health care for several older people. She was a member of Indiana Presbyterian Church
where she taught a Sunday School class for many years.
Mrs. Bosworth is survived by her five children and many
family members. Her children are as follows: Susanna Murry of Vincennes; Lula May Fleck of Lewisport, Kentucky;
Karl Gilbert Bosworth (Norma Jean) of Indianapolis; Patty Joe Young of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and Dorothy Ann Yochum (Charles)
of Union City, Tennessee. Three sons-in-law have preceded her in death.
Twenty grandchildren survive:
Janet Worland, Earl R. Murry Jr. (Bud), Brenda Jean Norris, Dan Murry, Paul Murry, Rosemary Rummage, James Fleck, Mary Ann
Estes, Nancy Goble, Shawn Bosworth, Anita Shelley, Gary Young, John Young, Tammy Walker, Sterling Young Jr, Diane Forrest,
Linda Storey, Karen Cox, Keith Yochum, and Kevin Yochum. Five grandchildren are deceased.
Mrs. Bosworth
leaves numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Westpark Rehabilitation in Evansville.
She was born August 1, 1937 in Aurora,
IL to Dr. Norman & Margaret (Heitz) Bastin.
Kay retired as a kindergarten teacher for the Vincennes Community
School Corporation and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren and helping others.
Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Schultz of Vincennes, a son, John Land of Vincennes, a brother, Armand Bastin
of Tavares FL, and 3 grandchildren, Brianna Land, Bronte Schultz, and Brady Schultz.

Burial will be held 10:00 am Thursday February 18, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Jason Griese officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
