Dolores Ann Gamel passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, having reached the age of 78 years, 8 months and 24 days.
 
Born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 6, 1933, she was the daughter of James W. And Nell, nee Dodson, Sweney.  She was united in marriage to Harry J. Gamel on May 9, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri and he survives.

Mrs. Gamel was a member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Kirkwood, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Gamel.

Surviving are her husband, Harry J. Gamel, her children, Janice (Mike) Tennant, Steve (Paula) Gamel, Mary (Tom) Garare, Susan Wiethop, Karen (Tim) Moloney, Sharon Myer, Theresa (Chris) Keefe, James (Judy) Gamel, Kathleen Gamel, Timothy (Michelle) Gamel, Joan Gamel, Nancy (Rob) Eveker, Lori (Kevin) Bessler and John (Geetanjali) Gamel; her sister, Shirley Sweney, 24 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Perry Lee Shelton of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at his home having reached the age of 58 years, 6 months and 29 days.
    
Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was the son of Basil and Ruby Jean, nee Baker, Shelton, Sr..
Mr. Shelton was a truck driver, a member of Villa Hills Assembly of God Church, the Teamsters Local and was a drummer with the Belleville Township High School West band.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
 
Surviving are his son, Andrew (Rebecca) Shelton of High Ridge, Missouri; his brother, Basil (Barbara) Shelton of Carlyle, Illinois; his sister, Teresa Lynn (Wayne) Green of Marissa, Illinois, nieces and nephews, Basil Shelton III, Wendy Shelton both of O’Fallon, Illinois, Michael (Ashley) Shelton of Destin, Florida, Ryan Shelton, Tiffany Shelton, both of Edwardsville, Illinois, Wayne Green, Jr. of Marissa, Illinois, Randy Green of Mission, Kansas and Daniel Green of Marissa, Illinois, cousins and many friends.

Juanita Romanik of Belleville, Illinois entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville having attained the age of 85 years, 1 month and 6 days.

Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on October 20, 1926, she was the daughter of Raymond and Edna, nee Sherrels, Touchette.  She was united in marriage to Stephen Romanik and he preceded her in death.    
Preceding her in death besides her husband were her parents, one son, Gary Deffendall; one grandson, Kevin Deffendall and two brothers, Raymond Touchette and Jack Touchette.

Surviving are her son, Robert (Tina) Romanik of Belleville; her grandchildren, Stephen Romanik II of Belleville, Gary (Pam) Deffendall, Jr. of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri and Kim Margherita of Eureka, Missouri; her great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Katie, Nicholas, Brittney, Joshua and Tyler, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

William T. Davinroy

William T. Davinroy of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 83 years, 10 months and 1 day.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 23, 1928, he was the son of Robert Corwin and Frances, nee McCormick, Davinroy. He was united in marriage to Mary Kathleen "Kay" Schuck on September 10, 1949 at St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in East St. Louis, Illinois and she survives.

Bill and his wife, Kay, were long time owners and operators of Millstadt Pharmacy. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Bill was a founder and the inaugural president of the Madison-St. Clair Professional Pharmacists Association, now known as MEPA and was recognized as its Pharmacist of the Year in 1983. Bill was active in many charitable and community organizations, including serving as an Alderman on the Village Board in Millstadt for many years and membership in the Millstadt Commercial Club, Jaycees and Optimist Club. Bill was a friend to everyone and volunteered his services without hesitation.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Bob Davinroy.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Kathleen "Kay" Davinroy of Millstadt, Illinois; his children Dennis Davinroy, Ronald (Ruth) Davinroy, Sherry (Pete Kobernus) Davinroy, Penny (Brad) Bobcik, Conny (Dan) Beatty, all of Millstadt, Illinois, Terry Davinroy of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Merry (Dave) Graf of Millstadt, Illinois; his brother, Joe (Carolyn) Davinroy of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; his grandchildren, Lauren Davinroy, Dominique Davinroy, Ryan Davinroy, Renee (Richie) Hauck, Brett Kobernus, Kent Kobernus, Stephanie Bobcik, Robby Beatty and Alex Beatty, all of Millstadt, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mrs. Tustanowski was a seamstress in the clothing industry.

Paul Damon Greiman of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home having reached the age of 52 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Born on November 14, 1958 in Terre Haute, Indiana, he was the son of Murl and Arlayne, nee Smith, Greiman.

Mr. Greiman was a fabricator in the sheet metal manufacturing industry.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Jackie Ronald Smock of Centralia, Illinois departed this life on Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia having reached the age of 75 years, 5 months and 15 days.

He was born on April 18, 1936 in Roodhouse, Illinois.

Mr. Smock was a clerk for the ICG Railroad and a longtime member of the Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his children, Kimberly (Jeff) Izard of Alton, Illinois and Gregory (Angela) Smock of Bethalto, Illinois and seven grandchildren.

Brian Robert Lavallee of Cahokia, Illinois entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Cahokia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center having attained the age of 50 years, 8 months and 4 days.

Born in Long Beach, California on February 27, 1961, he was the son of Robert J. And Lorraine, nee Neiser, Lavallee.

Mr. Lavallee was a computer technician in the shoe manufacturing industry, was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League KC9KTP.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Lorraine Lavallee.

Surviving are his father, Robert J. Lavallee of Cahokia, Illinois; his brothers, Alan (Robin) Lavalee of Cahokia, Illinois, Wayne Lavallee of California and John (Kari) Lavallee of Valmeyer, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Paul Edward Piantanida, 81, of Millstadt, Ill., born June 4, 1930, in E. St. Louis, Ill., died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Paul was a retired worker for Hunter packing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Paul and Anna, nee Rafalowski, Piantanida, and a sister, Mary Ann Goetz.

Surviving is his wife the former Mary Ann Peskar whom he married on September 6, 1956, at Holy Angels Church, E. St. Louis, Ill. six children Paul (Nancy) Piantanida, Millstadt, Brigette (Mark) Wittenborn, Carpentersville, Ill., Robert Piantanida, Millstadt, Suzette (William) Weldon, Schaumburg, Ill., Lizette (Scott) Poston, Red Bud, Ill., and Annette (Tony) Tajkarimi, Wildwood, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Adam Piantanida, Tiffany (Dan) Zeller, Stephanie Piantanida, Sam Weldon, Holly (Sean) Robbins, Jamie Poston, Phillip Poston, Serena Tajkarimi, Kaivon Tajkarimi; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Zeller, and Addison Zeller; a sister, Virginia McMillan, Kansas City, Mo.; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Richard Fred "Smitty" Smith

Richard Fred "Smitty" Smith, 84, of Belleville, Ill., born June 26, 1927 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011,  at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

"Smitty"  was a member of Signal Hill United Methodist Church, a longtime janitor at Signal Hill School District. He was also a volunteer with the Northwest Fire Department, a member of the St. Clair County Historical Society, a volunteer for the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a troop leader for Boy Scout Troop 530, a member of the St. Clair County Amateur Radio Club,  a member of the Belleville Camera Club, and served on the 175 and 200 year Belleville Anniversary Committees.

"Smitty" was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Emma, nee Nicks, Smith.

He is survived by cousins Ann (Thomas) Bommarito of Indianapolis, Ind. and Robert (Betty) Nicks, of Gerard, Mo.; and many friends in west Belleville.

Memorials may be made to the Signal Hill United Methodist Church and will be received by the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, October 14, 20-11, at the Signal Hill United Methodist Church 47 Signal Hill Place, Belleville, Illinois.

Gaetana Antonina Warner of Effingham, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011, in Effingham having attained the age of 70 years and 8 months.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 9, 1941,  she was the daughter of Carlo and Josephine DiLiberto, nee Galati. She was united in marriage to her first husband, Edward Meyer on April 18, 1959, and to her second husband, Gene Warner, on December 15, 1984.

Gaetana was a housewife and a member of the Christian faith. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Gene.

Surviving are her children Linda Meyer of St. Louis, Missouri, Laura Meyer of Mesa, Arizona, and Stephanie (fiancée Ray Stacklejohn) Parks of Effingham, Illinois; her sister, Antoinette (Ferd) Lang of Arnold, Missouri; her grandchildren, Brandi Parks of Mason, Illinois, Joseph (Megan) Parks of Edgewood, Illinois, and Jamie Parks of Effingham, Illinois; her great-grandchildren, Justin and Sophie Pontious of Effingham, Illinois, and Rowdie Stewart of Mason, Illinois; her nephew, Matt (Kari) Lang of Arnold, Missouri, and Jill (Carsen) Duchatschek of Collinsville, Illinois; special friend, Carl Myers of Effingham, Illinois; great nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Mary Mildred Golleher of Oakville, Missouri passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis reaching the age of 75 years and 18 days.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 13, 1936, she was the daughter of Sidney and Stella, Nee Hagar, Stearns.  She was united in marriage to Don Friend in St. Louis in 1952.  In 1968 in California she was united in marriage to George Golleher and he preceded her in death.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, George, were her parents and her sister, Delores Miles.
Surviving are her children, Donna (Hurley) Straube of Leslie, Missouri and Michael Hammett of Oakville, Missouri; her brother, Marty Leonard of Hillsboro, Missouri; her grandchildren, James (Kelly) Barron of Luebbering, Missouri, Joshua Hammett and Jeremiah Hammett, both of St. Louis and Jake Tabaka of Union, Missouri, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Catherine Mae Hoffman of Cahokia, Illinois entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Red Bud Nursing Home in Red Bud, Illinois having attained the age of 83 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Born on April 19, 1928, she was the daughter of Oscar Ephriam and Mary Belle, nee Ford, Otts.  She was united in marriage to Roy James Hoffman.

Mrs. Hoffman was a nurse’s aide providing private duty care to her patients, a member of Bethel Fellowhsip Church in Dupo, Illinois and a former volunteer at Teen Challenge.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Oscar and Mary Belle Otts, her children, Roy James Hoffman, Jr. and Roger Hoffman; her brothers, Dan Otts, Luke Otts, Chuck Otts and Earl Otts and her sister, Jean Wasem.

Surviving are her children, Catherine (Arthur) Middleton of DeSoto, Missouri, Kerwin (Mary Ann) Hoffman of Belleville, Illinois, Danny (Brenda) Otts of St. Ann, Missouri, Sharon (Sam) Africano of St. Charles, Missouri and Terry (Betty) Hoffman of St. Louis County, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Born in Chester, Illinois on June 13, 1991, he was the son of Corey S. Smith and Sharon C., nee Adams,  Pirkle.  He was united in marriage to Ruhanda, nee Barrios, Smith in Herrin, Illinois and she survives.
Joshua was a handyman and a lifetime resident of Southwestern Illinois and of the Baptist faith.

(Stacy) Smith of Marissa, Illinois; his mother, Sharon (Tyler) Pirkle of St. Genevieve, Missouri; his daugher, Vivinaomi Smith of Herrin, Illinois; his wife, Ruhanda Smith of Herrin, Illinois; his brother, Caleb Ryan Smith of Marissa, Illinois; his step-sister, Ashlie (Kevin) Mikel of Cutler, Illinois; his step-brother, Mark Childers, Jr. of Mt. Catherine Elizabeth Stevens of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Alexian Brothers Sherbrooke Village in St. Louis, having reached the age of 98 years, 1 month and 13 days.  Born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 9, 1913, she was the daughter of Frank J. and Anna, nee Ottens, Stevens.

Catherine was a secretary for Ralston Purina and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers, Bartholomew H. Stevens, Rev. Alois J. Stevens and Raymond J. Stevens; her sister, Marie H. Stevens; her sisters-in-law, Elvera Stevens, Madalyn Stevens; her brothers-in-law, Harold Fuegner and John Rowland.

Surviving are her brother, Harry F. Stevens of St. Louis, Missouri; her sisters, Dolores C. Fuegner of St. Louis, Missouri and Frances A. Rowland of St. Louis, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Catherine donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in St. Louis with Father Brad Modde officiating. Memorials may be made in the form of masses.

Irene Marie Walk of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Rosewood Care Center of St. Louis, having reached the age of 92 years, 2 months and 18 days.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 28, 1919, she was the daughter of Edward and Marguerite, nee Babor, Downing.  She was united in married to Elvin Walk and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Walk was a cashier for S and H Green Stamps.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Elvin, were her parents.

Surviving are her children, Curt (Joyce) Walk, Gune (Loretta) Walk and Maggie (Richard) Wiseman, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

As per her wishes, Irene’s remains were cremated.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.  The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Arline Elizabeth Bereitschaft of Millstadt, Illinois entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 97 years, 10 months and 29 days.
Mrs. Bereitschaft was born on September 17, 1913 in Columbia, Illinois.  She was united in marriage to William Bereitschaft, Sr. in 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death in 1978.

She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Illinois, VFW Post 7980 of Millstadt, the Millstadt Senior Citizen Center and a United States Army veteran of World War II having served in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, William Bereitschaft, Sr. and her brother, Elmer Meyer.

Surviving are her son, William (Diana) Bereitschaft of O’Fallon, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt.

Born on November 8, 1932 in Paderborn, Illinois, he was the son of Alois and Mathilda Reinhardt, nee Schoenborn. He was united in marriage to Ruth Gibson on March 31, 1956 in Corinth, Mississippi and she survives.

Mr. Reinhardt was a utility man at Peabody Coal Company for 27 years, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Mildred (Orville) Jakes, Edna Reinhardt in childhood; his brothers, Victor (Stella) Reinhardt, Jerome (Agnes) Reinhardt; his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Ruth Gibson; his sister-in-law, Juanita Reinhardt and his brothers-in-law, Lee Eckert and Edwin Cebulske.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Reinhardt of Millstadt, Illinois; his daughters, Peggy (Andrew) Giancola of Alexandria, Virginia and Patty (Paul) Taylor of Millstadt, Illinois; his brothers, Vincent Reinhardt of Missouri and Felix (Darlene) Reinhardt of Millstadt, Illinois; his sisters, Lucille "Lou" Eckert of Millstadt, Illinois and Helen Cebulske of Belleville, Illinois; his granddaughter, Lydia Taylor, of Millstadt, Illinois; his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Lois) Gibson of Marquette, Michigan; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mrs. LaRue was a factory worker and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Billy were her parents and two brothers, Walter Nichols and Thomas Nichols and a stepson, Dewaine LaRue.

Born in Hanna, Wyoming on May 26, 1929, she was the daughter of Anthony and Evangelia nee Vassilakis.  She was united in marriage to Donald Reynolds St. John on March 2, 1957 in Denver, Colorado and he survives.

Katherine began her professional career as a nurse following service to scrap drives as a teenager during World War II.  She relocated to Colorado after college, married and started a family in 1957.  As a longtime resident of Marshall, Missouri, she served as a school nurse and generously donated her talents to the Girl Scouts, Swim Team and several community organizations.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, Iris Callas and her brother, Nicolas Varvandakis.
Surviving are her husband, Donald R. St. John of Millstadt, Illinois; her children, Caroline Neal of Overland Park, Kansas, Susan (Glenn) Gumb of Overland Park, Kansas, Theresa St. John of Millstadt, Illinois and Michael St. John of Millstadt, Illinois; her sister, Peggy (Edgar) Smith of Laramie, Wyoming; her grandchildren, Anne Marie Neal and Katie Jo Gumb; her caregiver, Cindy Clements, her sister-in-law, Connie Gahagen of Columbis, California; several beloved nieces and nephews and many friends.

Max Schroedel.  She was united in marriage to Rev. Emil F. Hotz on December 2, 1934 at Zion Evangelical Church in Hoyleton by her uncle, Rev. Gus Brink.

Mrs. Hotz was a member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in Hoyleton, Zion Evangelical Women’s Guild and was a volunteer at Hoyleton Children’s Home. Along with her husband, Rev. Emil Hotz, they pastored at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Metropolis, Illinois, St. John’s United Church of Christ in Evansville, Illinois, St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ in Maeystown, Illinois and Friedens United Church of Christ in Marissa, Illinois.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Rev. Emil Hotz on April 28, 1966 and her sister, Rose Wacker.

Surviving are her son, Frederick (Carol) Hotz of Millstadt, Illinois, her grandchildren, Michael Hotz and fiancee, Cara Carpenter of Chicago, Illinois and Cathy (Chris) Gaby of Millstadt, Illinois; her great-granddaughter, Kelsey Gaby, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 6, 1933, she was the daughter of Walter and Esther, nee Beckman, McElroy.  She married Alan Rohmann in St. Louis in October, 1954 and he preceded her in death on Janauary 18, 1994.

Mrs. Rohmann was a member of Life Christian Center and Joys Group.

Russell Richardson Dutcher passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale following a short illness, having attained the age of 83 years, 4 months and 17 days.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 28, 1927, he was the son of Edwin Brown and Belle, nee Richardson, Dutcher.  He grew up in Montclair, New Jersey and Sheffield, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Berkshire School in 1945.  He received his B. A. Degree in 1951 from the University of Connecticut and his M.S. degree in 1953 from the University of Massachusetts, both degrees in geology. His friends convinced him to visit Penn State to discuss further study in the field of coal science.  He received his Ph.D. in 1960 and remained there to become the assistant director of the Coal Research Section and acting head of the Department of Geology and Geophysics.  He directed several masters and doctoral students as well as publishing pioneering work on coal carbonization from 1955 to 1970.  In 1960, he shared an award from the American Iron and Steel Institute.

In 1970, he joined the faculty of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale as chairman of the Department of Geology.  With the Arab oil embargo and the resulting federal initiatives, he found himself as the first director of what is now the Coal Research Center from 1974 to 1976 and found he preferred working with students.  From 1984 to his retirement in 1993, he served as the dean of the College of Science with his research interests focused on coal-bed methane.  In his career, he was honored by a number of research and teaching recognitions from a wide variety of organizations.  He held a lifelong enthusiasm for the Yellowstone-Bighorn Research Association Geologic Field Camp, a private, non-profit educational corporation in Red Lodge, Montana.

He was united in marriage to Linda, nee Fluecking, Dutcher on September 9, 1972 in Amherst, New York and she survives.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers, Edwin Brown, Jr., Charles Mason and John, who died in infancy.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Dutcher; his children, Russell R. Dutcher, Jr. of Douglas, Wyoming and Jan Dutcher Kahlfeldt and husband, James of Overland Park, Kansas; his grandchildren, Nicole Granas and husband, Davin, of Glenrock, Wyoming, Monica Dutcher of Overland Park, Kansas, Laura Zimbleman and husband, Scott of Gillette, Wyoming, Chance Dutcher of Douglas, Wyoming, Kevin Kahlfeldt of Overland Park, Kansas and Andrea Kahlfeldt of Overland Park, Kansas and his great-grandchildren, Renelle Granas of Glenrock, Wyoming, Zander Granas of Glenrock, Wyoming, Talon Granas of Glenrock, Wyoming, Skyron Granas of Glenrock, Wyoming, Lexie Ann Dutcher of Overland Park, Kansas, Tobias Russell Zimbleman of Gilette, Wyoming, Lilly Zimbleman of Gilette, Wyoming and Annabelle Zimbleman of Gilette, Wyoming.

A memorial gathering will be held in Carbondale at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Yellowstone-Bighorn Research Association Geologic Field Camp (YBRA), P. O. Box 20598, Billings, Montana.

Interment will be held at a later date in Sheffield Center Cemetery in Sheffield, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Hertel was a beautician and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Kenneth, were her parents and a brother-in-law, Glen Valentine.

Mr. Dreher was an estimator and project manager for John Bender, Inc. and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.

Preceding him in death were two sons, Mark A. Dreher and Daniel J. Dreher.

Born in Belleville, Illinois on November 29, 1921, he was the son of Charles and Katherine (Hoernis) Braun.  He married Lillian Sauer on April 18, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Braun was a firefighter with the City of Belleville, a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, the Illinois Association of Retired Firefighters, St. Clair Masonic Lodge No. 24 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army Air Corps.
Preceding him in death besides his wife, Lillian, were his parents and a sister, Lillian Perez.

Mr. Miller was an industrial arts teacher in the St. Louis Public Schools, a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps having served in World War II, a member of Grandview Masonic Lodge in St. Louis and the St. Louis Rock Hobby Club and was a volunteer at the St. Louis Science Center.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Pamela Ann Miller and two brothers, Robert Miller and Levan Miller.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 15, 1931, she was the daughter of Valentine and Rose (LeGrand) Merz.  She married Frederick "Fred" Kuhn on January 13, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1969.

Mrs. Kuhn was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Fred, were her parents and one brother, Robert Merz.

Surviving are her sisters and brothers, Clarence Merz of St. Louis County, Marilyn Kaelin of St. Louis, Jeanette Luedde of St. Louis and Richard (JoAnn) Merz of St. Louis, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Born in Columbia, Illinois on June 14, 1926, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Elsie (Lepp) Kinzinger.
Rosemary always had a smile for everyone.  Her family would like to extend their special thank you to the staff of Canterbury Manor Nursing Center and Heartland Hospice for the excellent loving care and support she and her family received.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her sisters, Dorothy Kinzinger, Florence Kinzinger and Eleanora Kinzinger.

Surviving her passing are her brother, Fred (Fern) Kinzinger of Columbia, Illinois; two nieces, two nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to Canterbury Manor Activity Fund or Heartland Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Garrison officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt.

Howard Gene Hutchison, Jr. of Akron, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of 52 years, 6 months and 23 days.

Born on June 14, 1958 in Cambridge, Ohio, he was the son of Howard Gene and Carol Sue (Wycoff) Hutchison.  He married Theresa Marie Johnson on February 14, 1995 in Akron, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife, Theresa Hutchison, of Akron, Ohio; his parents, Howard Gene and Carol Sue Hutchison; one son, Dakota Aaron Hutchison of Akron, Ohio; his sisters, Nancy (David) Stewart of Akron, Ohio and Donna Frye of Akron, Ohio and nieces and nephews.

All services will be private.  The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
